Building & Grounds CommitteeThe Building Committee meets several times a year to oversee the maintenance of our buildings and grounds. This committee also reports to the Parish Finance Council and the Parish Pastoral Council to provide insight and guidance for planning and budgeting purposes. Minutes of August 16, 2007, Meeting
Present: Jim Daniel, Parish Custodian Donald Placzkowski, and Business Administrator Penny Demerath. Excused: Jake Yeager, Randy Lorge. Meeting convened at 6:55 pm. Don and Terry have been changing the ballasts and T8s in school. The T12s in the Center and cafeteria were inadvertently omitted from the submission to Focus On Energy. The three banks of lights in church have been changed. The lights in the school gymnasium should be included in the budget for next year as they are fading and are close to the end of their life. Four handicap parking signs have been placed near the Gathering Space as requested by parishioners and brought to this committee. A boiler inspection, as required by the State of Wisconsin, has been completed. We are awaiting the renewal certificate. New filtering materials has been placed in the school uni-vents. The rectory doors have been painted and the frames wrapped for protection from the weather and sun exposure. Jake repaired the deck boards that were loose; the support was not rotted as was expected. Don stated that there are a few projects that still need to be completed:
Don stated that Terry has worked very hard this summer to get the projects done. Penny mentioned that the west storage room under the Gathering Space will be converted to a conference room since the conference rooms in the Center basement are being converted for youth ministry. Penny is working with Jake Yeager on creating a wall to separate the mechnicals from the conference room. Jim offered to fill the holes left by the picnic tent stakes with sand. Penny is talking with two vendors regarding updating the current sound system. The meeting adjourned at 7:19pm. The next meeting is scheduled for September 20, 2007 at 6:45pm, Center Main Level conference room. Respectfully submitted,
