Minutes of June 15, 2006, Meeting, Parish Center

Meeting convened at 6:51pm.

Committee reviewed the minutes of our May 18, 2006, meeting.

Donald Placzkowski indicated the old school gym bleachers have not been removed, as yet, but will be prior to July 10 th, the date when the old gym floor will be removed. A school in Denmark did come and look at possibly taking some of the bleachers, it is not know if they will take some, or not, at this point.

The old gym floor is scheduled to be removed, July 10, and the new floor surface installed in August after the Parish Festival and before school starts, during the week of August 21 st.

David Berndt and his volunteer group of Boy Scouts completed the landscaping project along the east side of the Parish Center in May, it looks very nice.

The flat roof area near the north school entrance has been completed as far as resurfacing and sealing, by Schwartz Company.

Donald Placzkowski reported some water had spotted ceiling tile in the one of second floor school classrooms. We will watch this and investigate further.  

Penny Demerath reported the following maintenance items have been approved for inclusion in the fiscal year 2006-2007 budget.

SACRED HEART SCHOOL-

The floor carpeting will be replaced in one school classroom, room to be selected based on need.

CHURCH-

Paint is peeling from an area on the south wall of the church sanctuary and also cracks are developing in this same area.   This project has been completed recently.

The regulator pressure (RP) valve in the basement, which controls water flow to the baptismal font, will need to be replaced.   Also plan to install a water softener to provide soft water for the baptismal font which will increase the life span of the regulator pressure ( RP) valve.

The circulating pump for the gym air circulation system is slowly wearing out and will need to be replaced.

PARISH CENTER-

The basement floor tile and baseboard need to be replaced with new materials.

The carpeting in the north entrance and the steps going to the main floor needs replacement. Recommend rubber tread material for the step risers.     

The carpeting in the upper level southeast meeting room needs to be replaced.

PARISH RECTORY-

The south door to the associate pastor living area does not seal correctly and needs to be adjusted.

Also Penny indicated we may be able to include in the 2006-2007 budget the replacement of the freeze stats and dampener motors in the heating system in each of the main floor school classrooms, she will check further on this.
