Building & Grounds Committee

The Building Committee meets several times a year to oversee the maintenance of our buildings and grounds. This committee also reports to the Parish Finance Council and the Parish Pastoral Council to provide insight and guidance for planning and budgeting purposes.

SACRED HEART CHURCH BUILDING & GROUNDS COMMITTEE

Minutes of November 17, 2005, Meeting, Parish Center

Members Present: Herb Tauchen, Jim Daniel, Kyle Alexander

Parish Custodian: Donald Placzkowski

Business Administrator: Penny Demerath

Meeting convened at: 6:50pm.

Minutes of the October 20, 2005, committee meeting were circulated.

Penny reported the work on the Parish Center garage roof and roof over the north entrance to the Parish Center were both completed, and look very nice.

Penny also requested from Heiman Builders an estimate to replace the facia on the overhang along the west side of the Parish Center with a brown facia to match the rest of the building.

The hand railings for the new Parish Center steps and the Parish Rectory steps, are scheduled to be installed, by next week.

Jim Daniel will check at Qualheims, Shawano, for a recommendation of material to cap the holes in the church parking from the Summer Festival tent stakes.

The white board in the First Grade classroom of Sacred School will be scheduled for re-painting soon.

Kyle Alexander will pursue finding a local Boy Scout who might be interested in leading the Parish Center landscaping project, as an Eagle Scout Community Service Project, to be done next spring. Would be good if we find a scout for this to have them attend our January 2006 committee meeting to begin the planning for this project.

Father Len has asked the committee to consider for the next fiscal year recommending replacement of the Parish Center basement tile floor and baseboard.

At our December 2005 committee meeting we may meet earlier to do a walk thru of building and grounds to develop our list of items to be considered for the next fiscal years maintenance recommendations. Donald Placzkowski will advise of his schedule and we will call committee members before the next meeting to confirm.
