Building & Grounds CommitteeThe Building Committee meets several times a year to oversee the maintenance of our buildings and grounds. This committee also reports to the Parish Finance Council and the Parish Pastoral Council to provide insight and guidance for planning and budgeting purposes. SACRED HEART CHURCH BUILDING & GROUNDS COMMITTEE Minutes of September 21, 2006, Meeting, Parish Center Members Present: Kyle Alexander, Jim Daniel, Herb Tauchen, Randy Lorge Parish Custodian: Donald Placzkowski Business Administrator: Penny Demerath
Meeting convened at 6:50pm.
Committee reviewed the minutes of our August 17, 2006, meeting.
Donald Placzkowski provided an update on recent repairs to the heating boiler in the church basement, 2 sections, an RP valve, and a gasket were replaced. Boiler will be re-calibrated, soon. The new school gym floor was installed in August as scheduled, and looks very nice, new bleachers have been installed as well. Randy Lorge has volunteered to take a water sample from a line near the baptismal font and have testing done to determine hardness of the water. This information will guide further decisions to reduce problems with the baptismal font and the water circulation system for the font. Penny Demerath learned at a recent Green Bay Diocese meeting that through our insurance provider all parishes within our Diocese can anticipate an inspection by the insurance company, within the next year or so, of our parish buildings and grounds. This inspection will focus on safety concerns. Penny indicated a preliminary review of the information about the inspection, showed our Sacred Heart facilities are in good condition, overall. This fall we will paint bright colored stripes on any steps leading into our buildings to improve safety for people entering. For now, we will not be placing any benches around the gathering space entrance. Some ideas were discussed to re-do the landscaping around the carport entrance and the coach’s door, possibly sometime next year. We will continue these discussions for the next fiscal years maintenance plans. The booster heater and tank under the dishwasher in the parish basement kitchen will be replaced soon. Zachow Plumbing has been engaged to do this work, cost is about $1,700.00. Don Placzkowski and Jim Daniel will work on plugging the holes in the parking lot surface from the tent stakes used for the tents at the Parish Picnic. Meeting adjourned 7:29pm., next committee meeting, scheduled October 19, 2006, 6:45pm, Parish Center. Respectfully submitted, Kyle Alexander [Previous] [Up to Ministries] [Next] |
