Informational Reports:

School Administrator:   Lois applied for and received a $300 grant from Green Bay Packers for the reading program.   At the Christmas concert Lois made an announcement concerning the school budget and distributed a flier outlining the budget.   Lois shared a positive letter she received a with tuition payment and may use the letter for PR in some way.   As of the Christmas concert 30 families have not paid tuition but 10 have talked with Lois since the concert.   Lois sent a letter this week asking those who have not paid any of their tuition to respond and will phone those who don’t respond.   Lois will follow-up in January with families who still haven’t arranged tuition payment.   Mark Fuller questioned if BTCE needs to address this with families?   Lois will wait until Jan. before further pursuit.   A new program is set to begin in Jan. titled “Prepare your child for kindergarten.”   Lois mentioned that Mrs. Croschere is enthusiastic about the program and parents have volunteered to help.   Several concerns were mentioned (possible number of students/what the cap would be, what the curriculum would consist of, socialization of 4 year olds to have to adapt to socialization with 5 year olds, how one teacher would run both programs, all day program for 4 year olds may be too long, do current kindergarten parents have any concerns.)   Consensus was reached to try this program and will evaluate in April.   Father Brio is scheduled to speak on April 12.

DRE:   Regular session for HS had begun.   Reconciliation for MS/HS students was held last evening with a very good turn out—letter sent stating that it was required.  A bible study on St. Luke was done while waiting.   Middle School completed a creative advent activity and prayer service.   First confirmation meeting is scheduled for Jan 21 st.   Activities are planned for this meeting as well.   The “Innkeepers Wife’s Tail” play has been planned for the 4 :30 Mass on Christmas Eve.   Tells the Christmas story from the point of view of the innkeeper’s wife.   Children from the entire parish have been asked to participate.   RCIA program has two regular people in attendance at scheduled meetings.   Rite of Welcoming is on Jan 14 th.

Athletic Committee:   Basketball schedule was posted in the bulletin.

Board Committees:   Development Committee held a meeting on Dec 6 th.   Brenda Onesti, Audra Onesti and Alex Schreiner were in attendance.   Minutes will be emailed.   Sister Gemma will review these proposals and comment at the next BTCE meeting.   Proposals include: moving elementary and middle school faith formation to Sunday between masses and revisit changing existing faith formation over to GOF.   Technology Committee:   An air conditioner for the computer lab has been purchased.

New Business:   Denise will send Penny an updated members list and current length of term for each board member.   Tom Berg attended the last Finance Council meeting as the BTCE representative.   Finance Council meets the 2 nd Tuesday of each month; Mark Fuller will attend the next meeting.   Discussion at the Dec meeting included:   how cash flow is tight, school enrollment concerns, getting parish portion of tuition from area parishes.   A goal of the BTCE is to have each BTCE member attend one finance council meeting.

Next meeting: January 18, 2007, 6 pm

Berg motioned to adjourn, Schreiner seconded, motion carried.

Closing Prayer.
