Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Denise Stueck at 6 p.m.

 In attendance:   Denise Stueck, Lois Maczuzak, MaryEllen Waldvogel, Alex Schreiner, Ron Henn, Fred Ponschok, Penny Demerath, Tom Berg, Mark Fuller, Becky Dillenburg, Father Len and Nancy Schauer

Opening Prayer:   was performed

Approval of Agenda:   Addition of updating of the task force meetings and parent teacher conference report from November 2005.   Schauer moved, Ponschok seconded to approve agenda with additions.   Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes:   Ponschok moved, Dillenburg seconded to approve minutes.   Motion carried.

Financial Statements:   Henn moved, Schauer seconded to approve financial statements.   Motion carried.

Correspondence:   Pizza sales fundraiser has just started, but it should have been a Booster Club fundraiser.

Informational Reports:

  • Pastoral Office – No report
  • Home & School – No report
  • Finance Council – see Financial Council minutes
  • Director of Religious Education – Starting to prepare for confirmation and first communion (of which the counts are down a little).   Reconciliation is next Saturday
  • School Administrator – Bleser Foundation came thru with approximately $70,000 for a new gym floor, stage curtain, reading literacy helper, etc.   Also received $1000 from Dollar General.   A preliminary budget was distributed with a tentative forecast of tuition going from $1200 to $1225/ year for the 2006/2007 school year.   Catholic schools week was discussed (January 30 thru February 3).   February 16 is an orientation meeting for kindergarten and first grade students.   On the November parent teacher conferences there was positive feedback received from both the teachers and the parents . . . had good results with the timing and parental participation.  
  • Pastoral Council – see Pastoral Council minutes
  • Athletic Committee – Randy Mallmann is the co-chair of the committee.   Michelle Eno purchased the megaphones and beads to sell at the games.
  • BTCE Committees
    • Personnel – A survey to be filled out by the Board was distributed and due by January 26, 2006 for recapitulation of the results.
    • Budget Proposal – Other than the preliminary budget distributed by the school administrator no action taken.
    • Policy – Schauer moved, Fuller seconded to approve the revised policy #3005.   Motion carried.
    • Development – Much discussion centered on training/teaching the children other than partiipating at a regularly scheduled Mass.   A strong suggestion was made for a youth minister that could possibly hold a special mass once a month, the person needs to be able to compliment and try to fill a need for our youth.   If this is to move forward there needs to be more involvement by the members of the Parish.   More discussion will take place at future meetings on this topic.
    • Technology -   No update

Announcements:   Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, February 16, 2006 at the Parish Center, Upper Level
