Meeting Minutes  

Meeting was called to order by Denise Stueck at 6 p.m.

In attendance:   Denise Stueck, Lois Maczuzak, Mark Fuller, Fred Ponschok, Tom Berg, Penny Demerath, Brenda Onesti and Nancy Schauer

Excused: Mary Ellen Waldvogel, Alex Schreiner and Ron Henn

Opening Prayer:   was performed

Approval of Agenda:   Ponschok moved, Schauer seconded to approve agenda.   Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes: Ponschok moved, Berg seconded to approve minutes with striking of portion regarding business administrator.   Motion carried with above mentioned change.

Financial Statements:   Schauer moved, Ponschok seconded to approve the school’s and religious education’s financial statements.   Motion carried.

Informational Reports:

• Home and School – no update at this time
• Director of Religious Education – handed out evaluation of the RCIA program.   Coordinator position candidate has been interviewed.   She has experience but no degree.   Decision needs to be made for a second round of advertisements or hiring the applicant with specifications (as far as education and time frame needed to completed certain steps) stated as part of the hiring process.   The Board of Education will be issuing a memo regarding setting of a time line for obtaining certifications for all open positions.   Again, the coordinator needs to have a BA the facilitator does not.  
• School Administrator – enrollment for the 2006 – 2007 school year is down.   The replacement of the gym floor will be done before school starts in the fall and the need to remove asbestos will take place.   The Mielke Theatre approved the use of the park for the 125 th (tentatively scheduled for 10/14/06 from noon to five).   Also, the Bishop will be here twice in the next school year:   once for celebration of the 125 years on Sunday, October 29 th and again for celebration of Catholic Schools Week.
• Athletic Committee – Basketball and volleyball did excellent during last year’s school year.   Possibly in need of girls volleyball and cheerleading coaches.   In the 2005-2006 school year the committee made money.   Looking at having a pizza sale for next year’s fundraiser.
• BTCE Committees
• Personnel –no action taken.
• Budget Proposal –no action taken.
• Policy – no action taken.
• Development –no action taken.
• Technology –An updated five year plan is due this summer and is being worked on.   A room air conditioner has been allotted for.

Old Business:   New member:   Brenda Onesti

New Business:   Election of officers went as follows:

            President:   Berg moved, Schauer seconded to nominate Mark Fuller.   Schauer moved, Berg seconded to close the nomination.   Motion carried.

            Vice President:   tabled until next meeting

            Secretary:   Berg moved, Schauer seconded to nominate Denise Stueck.   Berg moved, Schauer seconded to close the nomination.   Motion carried.

Announcements:   Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Parish Center, Upper Level
