Meeting Minutes

Meeting was called to order by Denise Stueck at 6 p.m.

In attendance: Denise Stueck, Tom Berg, Mark Schultz, Fred Ponschok, Lois Maczuzak, MaryEllen Waldvogel, Alex Schreiner, Penny Demerath, Becky Dillenburg, Ron Henn, Correen Lewis, Mark Fuller and Nancy Schauer

Opening Prayer: was performed

New Members: Mark Fuller is taking over the position of Paul Brulla which is set to expire in June of 2006.

Approval of Agenda: Schreiner moved, Berg seconded to approve agenda as printed. Motion carried.

Approval of Minutes: With the correction of Tom Berg serving as vice chair for this year, Ponschok moved, Berg seconded to approve corrected minutes. Motion carried.

Financial Statements: Not Available

Correspondence: None

Old Business: Ponschok moved, Schauer seconded to approve the Revised Policy SH5075 that now reads: Athletic director is to meet with the administrator prior to the beginning of the sport season to verify that all coaches have been properly trained in regard to Diocesan requirements when having contact with the children. Motion carried.

Still seeking a new member.

New Business: The actual enrollment count at Sacred Heart School for the 2005/2006 school year is lower than expected. As of this date 138 students are enrolled . . . the enrollment is made up of 60 families from Sacred Heart Parish, 5 families from St. Martins’, 8 families from St. Anthony’s and 11 families from St. Michael’s. Mrs. Maczuzak pleaded with the Board to have the attendance issues reviewed. The development committee will look at having an attendee at a series of workshops that will be held in Green Bay to help us address this issue.

The rapport of the families that belong to Sacred Heart Church was discussed at length. Items discussed were stewardship, second collection, more togetherness, common sharing, etc.

  • Director of Religious Education – Confirmation date has been set
  • School Administrator – Schauer moved, Stueck seconded to approve the fund raisers for the seventh grade trip to Camp T as Racine Kringle sales in January 2006 and Wreath Sales with final delivery to be in November 2005. Budgeted sales for each fundraiser are $1200 and $800 respectively. Motion carried.
  • Pastoral Council – see Pastoral Council minutes.
  • Athletic Committee – No report
  • BTCE Committees
    • Personnel – No report
    • Budget Proposal – No report
    • Policy-need to set a subsequent meeting date to discuss a new policy that will set a 90 day probationary period for new students
    • Development-will work on developing plans for retaining and obtaining more students for our school
    • Technology – New computers have arrived and have been installed. Students are not using the machines.

Announcements: Next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 20, 2006 at the Parish Center, Upper Level
