SACRED HEART PARISH Board of Total Catholic EducationBTCE – Development Committee Report of Meeting 4/10/07 The BTCE Development Committee met on Tuesday, April 10 th at 6PM on the upper level of the Parish Center. Alex Schreiner, Sr. Gemma Therese, Amy Koehler, and Clayton Kane were in attendance. Alex led an Opening Prayer and the meeting was called to order. A packet of information was given to and reviewed with Clayton as he was unable to attend our last meeting. He graciously agreed to chair our sub-committee looking into Catholic Retreats and the phone number contact list, involving that area, from the Parish Survey was given to him. Alex reviewed with all present the importance of using the Activity Proposal/Acceptance Form properly for ALL projects stemming from our committee. And, that it should be done early in the month, so that the status of its approval can be discussed at the monthly Dev. Committee mtg. and the presentation for the BTCE/Pastoral Council prepared. It will take about a month for proposed project to go through the system, so we must plan ahead. Proper use of this form helps us all to function, not as separate individuals pulling in different directions, but as a committee in an organized, efficient manner. A few suggestions were made to make the form more complete. Alex will see to these changes and take copies to Lynn at Parish Center to keep available for committee member use. Clayton posed the question as to whether our website would be an effective tool to employ advertising our upcoming events. Amy shared that currently the website is a challenge to update (host system not user friendly) and technical problems exist in listing Parish news along with the School news. Clayton suggested a program possibly available through Catholic Knights Insurance Program to upgrade our system. He will forward info to Amy/Penny. Information was introduced and discussed on the 3 projects going through the proposal/approval process at present:
Clayton suggested that should we host our own bide ride in the future, local businesses i.e. Joe Bikeler’s or State Farm may be interested in sponsoring. Something to consider. The meeting was adjourned with the announcement of next month’s meeting: May 8 th-6PM-Parish Center-upper level. At that meeting we will discuss time and location of future meetings.
