Parish Pastoral Council

The Parish Pastoral Council sets the direction of parish life through listening and responding to the Spirit of God, organizing lay participation and cooperation, facilitating shared practical wisdom, and doing parish planning. The pastor with the assistance of the Parish Pastoral Council determines the vision and mission of the parish.

Proposal for By-Law Changes – 6-15-06

Article 4

4.05 Removal of members   (pg 5)

2. e.   Should a member of the Pastoral Council be removed by the Pastor and the Pastoral Council, after explanation by the Pastor, not concur by less than 7 votes of the total voting membership of the Pastoral Council, the member of the Pastoral Council by Resolution, shall submit the issue to the Episcol Vicar of the area as set out in sec. 3.02(4) above.

Article 6

6.04 Removal of Officers      (pg 9)

1. e.   Should an Officer of the Pastoral Council be removed by the Pastor and the Pastoral Council, after explanation by the pastor, not concur by less than 7 votes of the total voting membership of the Pastoral Council, the Officer or the Pastoral Council by Resolution shall submit to the Episcopal Vicar as set out in sec. 3.02 (4) above.

Article 7

3. a.   Meetings shall generally be limited to issues and matters on the agenda, but the Pastoral Council may vote on old business and any new business which may arise, if necessary to do so with no less than 7 members present.

Article 10

10. 02 Amendments to the Constitution.

At the following Pastoral Council meeting the proposed Amendments shall become effective when approved by the Pastoral Council by a consensus meaning at least 7 of the 12 total voting membership of the Pastoral Council.

If you can not attend a Pastoral Council meeting, it is your responsibility to let Lynn know at the Church Center, 526-2023.

 

All meetings will be held at the Sacred Heart Center (lower level) beginning at 7:30 p.m
