Parish Pastoral CouncilThe Parish Pastoral Council sets the direction of parish life through listening and responding to the Spirit of God, organizing lay participation and cooperation, facilitating shared practical wisdom, and doing parish planning. The pastor with the assistance of the Parish Pastoral Council determines the vision and mission of the parish.
Pastoral Council Meeting November 16, 2006
Present: Lois Maczuzak, Randy Lorge, Penny Demerath, Fred Ponschok, Patty Rindt, Herb Tauchen, Peter Warmenhoven, Mark Anderson, Gemma Niemuth, , Andy Onesti, Ron Henn, Linda Olson, Troy Edwards, & Bill Erdman Absent (Excused): Dale Vannes, Linda Olson Visitors : Sister Gemma Therese, Vicki Hoffman, and Amy Koehler ; our Faith Formation Team. Lois was given the opportunity to give her report first. Teachers conferences are coming up soon. We are compiling a list of Alumni to invite to the 125 th reunion.We are addressing the outstanding tuition. We are discussing 4 year Kindergarten,preschool, or daycare to help increase enrollment. II. Bill made a motion to approve the agenda and Herb second the motion – all approved Discussion of the minutes. 3 corrections noted: Troy Edwards and Fred Ponschok were absent, item III Dale made the motion not Fred, and Fish Fries(spell check). Fred made a motion to accept the minutes with above corrections and Andy 2 nd. The motion- all approved. IV. Review of the By-laws Article 5 discussed. Troy to review. Reviewed changes and correction to Articles 1-4 – a consensus was met. V. Committee Updates: A. Building & Grounds- No major expenses. Another score board was donated- looking for approval from the board to install- discussed and a consensus was met .A sticker of a Cardinal may be installed in the middle of the gym floor. There is a test area in process now. B. Finance- No increase in donations after the appeal. A $35,000. deficit remains. We will be contacting the out of parish students churches to make an appeal for their subsidies. St Anthony’s has 18 students in our school. We need to look at other ways to off set the deficit; Letter to each household, Pulse Article, Fundraising, Estate gifts, Christmas donations, Increase enrollment C. Activities- Golf outing – the Visitors Guide would like to discuss advertising for the event. D . Stewardship- Advancing the Mission E. Board of Education- We discussed the fact that Lois and Sister Gemma will be given the opportunity to go at the beginning of the meeting so they can then be adjourned. 2,400 Alumni are on the current list for the invites to the 125 th celebration. We have a 5 year technology plan. A review of the safety area has taken place. Lois has a “Wish List”. Sister Gemma Teresa gave a report on the workshop she attended. Youth Minstry, RCIA, 1 st Reconciliation, and Prayer Services are all programs that she will be working in. F. Liturgy & Worship -No Report G. Evangelization- Nice article in the Pulse. H. Human Concerns- The giving trees are set up in the gathering space and also in the north entrance of church. I. Communications-No report Old Business: 1. Phase II- continue to give updates. The team will meet again in 6 months. It was suggested that YTD totals be put in the bulletin for reference. 2. Day of Reflection- January 13 th, 2007 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.
New Business: 1 item to discus at the Day of Reflection is a new Parish directory, Olen Mills has approached us with some dates and promotions. Olen Mills will set up the entire program. Sister Gemma Therese led us in a closing prayer. Next meeting to be held Thursday December 14, 2006 @ 7:30 p.m. in the Parish Center Lower Level, NW.
