Dale reported that we had our first Fish Fry and thought it went over well as the first one. The next Fish Fry will land on Veteran’s Day. The thought would be to have a $1 off for all Veterans. Pete reported that there was nothing urgent or really pressing, but was concerned that the statements aren’t real current due to some computer problems and health issues with Penny. Randy from Building & Grounds, the exhaust fan is installed and working. We are still waiting for the roofing company to complete the jobs bid. The committee is meeting with the company that left some over-spray on the building to take care of the problem. The Oct 6 meeting was discussed as to the purpose of the meeting. There was concern that the objective did not seem to be the focus of the meeting. There seemed to be many topics that were discussed at the meeting that were factors of why people don’t send their children to the school, but the topics were not about the school itself. There seems to be other issues that have an effect on the school that are associated with the parish in general. There was a sense of frustration from the people who attended the task force. Next meeting is tentatively scheduled for Thursday, Oct 27. There was more discussion on the make-up of the committee and accepting and dealing with the comments that do come forward. The Mission seemed to have had some very positive feedback from those who did fill out the evaluations. Due to unforeseen circumstances, the follow-up groups will meet the week of Oct 24. There was an interest from 25 people to meet for the small groups. Lois and Mary Ellen received news from the Chocolate Shop and Sub-way that they are willing to share a percent of their profits from the first Wednesday of every month. We need to get the news out to the parish members regarding the opportunities. The Thanksgiving Feast is planned for November 16, everyone from the parish is invited to attend. There will be activities in the gym until the mass begins. There was an announcement in the bulletin requesting donations for food for the feast. There will be 40 students being confirmed at the 10:00 Mass this Sunday with Bishop Banks. Mary Ellen informed the members of the early payment plan that she set up for parents and that she received more money her first evening than ever before in the past.
