Items of Discussion:

Diocesan Catholic Youth Conference- March 30, 2008.
Reality Check- June 16-20, 2008. There will be an informational meeting on March 11, 2008.
Steubenville North- July 18-20, 2008. This is a conference for high school teens interested in youth leadership and growth in faith. This conference will be held at Rochester, MN. Some fundraising will be needed.
A local youth ministry leadership training (high school & adult) is planned for June 14, 2008. This training may be held at Camp Tekawitha.
The prayer meeting at the Shawano High School will be moving to a new time of 2:45 PM on Tuesdays. A “club status” will be sought for this group, with teens leading and opportunities provided for leadership and service.

The main focus of the meeting was working on out focus result areas. Much discussion was spent on the area of youth leadership with the following timeline made: March/April 08- recruitment of youth leaders; April 08- evangelical event; May 08- commitment event; June 08- training event; July 08- Steubenville North conference.

For the focus area of Evangelization, the goal of having monthly meetings, starting in Fall 2008, was made. The youth center should be developed and completed in the summer of 2008. Other forms of evangelizations and outreach was discussed such as phone calls, having a website, placing youth ministry information in the bulletin, using “ Facebook,” email, and maintaining a youth bimonthly newsletter. Some of these suggestions overlap into the Communications focus area.

Focus areas that need further goal development include: Service and Justice, Worship and Liturgy, Family Connections, and Faith Development.
